For universities
Give every student a place to rehearse the conversations that shape their future.
Capable students often underperform in interviews and presentations because the first time they practise the conversation is when it counts. VoicePower combines expert-led coaching with private AI practice, helping universities extend meaningful preparation across larger student cohorts.
The problem
Preparation is the gap between capable and hired.
- Students rehearse in their head, then meet the real interview cold.
- Careers appointments are limited, and demand peaks in the same few weeks.
- Mock interviews are hard to scale to a whole cohort, let alone repeat.
- Confident students get the practice; quieter students avoid asking for it.
The hybrid university model
Expert people, extended by private practice.
- 01
VoicePower and the university identify priority student moments.
- 02
Students receive expert-led guidance or coaching.
- 03
Students rehearse privately with AI between human touchpoints.
- 04
Careers professionals and coaches focus on students requiring judgement and deeper support.
- 05
The pilot is reviewed against agreed participation and experience measures.
AI extends the reach of careers and employability teams. It does not replace advisers, coaches or educators.
The student journey
Five steps, from avoiding it to ready for it.
- 01
Choose the moment
The student selects the conversation they are facing — a graduate interview, an assessment centre, a presentation, a networking approach.
- 02
Practise privately
An AI persona plays the interviewer or audience and pushes back realistically, between human touchpoints. Nobody watches.
- 03
Get structured feedback
Feedback on structure, clarity, conciseness and — for spoken practice — pace, filler words and composure.
- 04
Repeat until it lands
Students run the same scenario again as often as they want, at whatever hour suits them.
- 05
Escalate to a human
Careers advisers and expert coaching step in for the students and moments that need a person.
What it changes for a careers service.
Practice at the volume students actually need
Every student can rehearse an interview or presentation as many times as they want, at 11pm the night before, without booking anything.
Careers teams stay focused on judgement
AI absorbs the repetition. Advisers spend their limited hours on strategy, difficult cases and the students who need a person.
Feedback focused on employability
Structured feedback on clarity, structure, confidence, conciseness, delivery and composure. These behaviours influence how candidates are understood and remembered.
Reaches the students who never book
Private practice removes the social cost of asking for help, so quieter students get reps too.
Visibility for the department
Aggregate, cohort-level reporting on participation and practice volume, agreed with you before launch.
Fits the year you already run
Slots into placement season, assessment-centre prep and employability modules rather than replacing them.
The pilot model
A focused pilot, defined before it starts.
We start small and specific, agree what success looks like in advance, and review it honestly at the end. No institution-wide commitment before the evidence.
- One cohort or one department, agreed up front.
- A defined time box, typically one term.
- The outcome the institution wants to improve.
- The scenarios students get access to.
- How students are onboarded and supported.
- How the careers team is involved.
- Agreed success measures before launch.
- Reporting cadence during the pilot.
- A short review session at the end.
- A clear decision point — continue, adjust or stop.
Responsible use, stated plainly.
Universities are right to be careful about AI and student data. Here is our position before you ask for it — and everything below is agreed in writing before launch.
Privacy by default
Practice sessions belong to the student. Nothing is public, nothing is shared with employers, and nothing is sold.
Data handling
Data handling, hosting and processing terms are agreed with the institution in writing before any student account is created.
Recording and consent
Voice practice requires the student to start the session deliberately. Students are told what is captured and can decline voice and use text instead.
Access controls
Students see only their own sessions. Staff access is scoped to what the institution approves during setup.
Retention and deletion
Retention periods are agreed with the institution, and students or the institution can request deletion of practice data.
Reporting
Institutional reporting is aggregate and cohort-level. Individual transcripts are not shared with staff unless the student chooses to share them.
Academic-integrity boundaries
VoicePower is practice, not assessment. It does not grade students, feed marks into academic systems, or produce work for submission.
Responsible AI use
AI provides rehearsal and feedback. It does not make decisions about a student, and careers professionals stay in the loop.
Questions careers teams ask.
- How does VoicePower work for a university?
- Students practise real career conversations — interviews, presentations, networking, negotiation — with an AI persona that responds and pushes back. They get immediate, structured feedback. Careers teams can add expert coaching for cohorts who need it.
- Who owns student data?
- The university and the student. Practice sessions belong to the student, are private by default, and are never sold or used to train third-party models. We agree data handling and retention terms with the institution before launch.
- Is AI practice a replacement for careers advisers?
- No. It handles volume and repetition — the reps a student needs before they are ready for a human conversation. Advisers stay focused on judgement, strategy and the cases that need a person.
- How do you pilot with a university?
- A time-boxed pilot with one cohort or one department, agreed success measures, and a short review at the end. No long-term commitment before the evidence.
Start with one cohort and a clearly defined outcome.
We will work with your careers or employability team to define the students, scenarios, timing and success measures for a focused VoicePower pilot.
