"Sean rebuilt the way I told the story. By the third meeting I wasn't performing — I was just talking, and the room leaned in."
When this founder came to VoicePower, the pitch was technically strong but emotionally flat. Six weeks out from kicking off a Series B, the deck had been workshopped to death — what hadn't been touched was the founder's actual delivery.
I worked on three things over five sessions:
- The first 90 seconds. Rebuilt the opening so it landed the company's wedge in two sentences, not eight. Rehearsed the new opening 40+ times against the AI roleplay tool, including with hostile interruptions.
- The hard questions. Mapped the 12 questions every partner was likely to ask — including the two the founder had been avoiding — and drilled answers until they came out compact, calm, and without hedging.
- The pace and pause. The founder spoke too fast under pressure. I worked on deliberately slowing the first sentence of each answer, which read as composure even when nerves were high.
The round closed oversubscribed inside seven weeks.
